Kirkmahoe Concerts and Thomas Tosh Proudly Present Robin Williamson.

Robin Williamson is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and storyteller of exceptional talent and influence. He co-founded the Incredible String Band in Edinburgh in the early 1960s, a band that subsequently played at the Woodstock Festival.

Fifty years ago this summer they released what is often thought of as the folk music equivalent of the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper album – 5,000 Spirits.  More recently he has recorded a series of exceptional solo albums on the highly acclaimed ECM label.

Williamson’s work is admired by people as diverse at Robert Plant and a former Archbishop of Canterbury. He comes to Dumfries and Galloway once a year for David Clark’s Kirkmahoe Concerts programme, to perform a unique set that always thrills his audience.
