As part of Thomas Tosh Summer Books 2025 events and exhibitions, Louisa Birdsall’s exhibition fetaures her book cover for David Clark’s debut novel, and a range of prints and originals.

Louisa is a local designer/illustrator who was brought up on the Solway Coast. She graduated from Grays School of Art (Robert Gordons Univesity of Aberdeen) in 2022. She studied communication design, so her work is a mix of digital and traditional mediums. Inspired by old railway posters, her prints use a limited colour palette. She is inspired by our loal area, creating designs of coastal scenes in Dumfries & Galloway.

Another of her styles is using mixed media to chreater charming original animal illustrations. Louisa has also created her own greeting card range with cute animals and charcter illustration

Louisa is pursuing moving into children’s book illustration.
